The 1779 Ironbridge Pinion has the capabilities of fulfilling many tasks from day tris to full expedition riding. The unique design is that it will accept the superb Neodrive e-assist rear hub at any time in the future so therefore allowing the buyer to be confident in having a handbuilt bicycle alongside the equipment to survive long trips with low maintanace.
1779 Pinion will transport you effortlessly where you want to take it and handle the type of terrain lesser bikes will struggle with. At home on tarmac, rough roads, tracks, and trails. Enabling you to bridge the county, country, continent, or the world.
The standard frame is designed with 'Polydrops' that enable either hub gears (with chain or belt drive) or derailleurs to be fitted. In fact, if you want, the one frame that can take both by switching the rear dropout inserts as long as you specify that's what you want, then we can ensure all the relevant cable guides are in place. The frame is shown with the specified Pinion gearbox to give you smooth reliable and virtually maintenance-free transmission, however, it can be built with an external cassette and derailleur for customer preference.
Named after the year that the world's first iron bridge was built bridging the River Severn and joining the communities of Broseley and Madeley. The settlement that grew around the northern end of the bridge become known as Ironbridge. Bridges allow you to join many things and bringing communities closer together. Overcoming barriers, allowing you to meet new people and explore new places easily.
